LAST SHOW OF THE YEAR

Just fucking be there.

A fine line up organised by Mr. Sam Pillay, singer of Fixed Grins.
Fixed Grins is the new music by Sam and other ex-Crimewave people.
They're damn good and immediately fill the void left by their previous band.
Why aren't more bands starting at this level in Birmingham?
Too busy being pathetic pseudo-bohemian poser punks maybe?

Here's photos from the first show we just played with another project of ours, No Friends.

A wild Saturday night in Birmingham at the Ideal mini ramp (behind Ideal skate store at The Custard Factory) with skaters flying everywhere and still skating while the bands played on the ramp, sometimes even crashing into us!
Also live were Gentlemen's Pistols and Stinky Wizzleteat. Both great.

Booze and bodies in a huge chaotic burst of fun. Really cool atmosphere and hopefully the first of many more shows/events there.

p.s. Doom Patrol news soon.

Quick update: Over 10 new songs are being finished and after recording sometime in the next months, we plan to release them on a number of splits with other bands, play more and more shows and hopefully tour for the first time too.
Y'know... the usual band stuff.
Oh and destroy all the shitty bands, hyped bullshit and poser fakes that seem to be growing in numbers.... oops, nearly forgot that.
Seriously though, where'd all the good music in this country go?
Has everyone just quit?

- A photo from one of the recording sessions.

*All recorded in a bedroom, with windows closed, hoping the police aren't called by concerned passers by.

*A pillow case and coathanger combo- hung from a light shade -over the mic for a makeshift pop shield.

*Crucial old school gang chants abandoned after too many takes ruined by laughter (Hi Jim, Hi Rich ^_^)

This was a great show organised by Andy from THE HORROR. My first time seeing them play and they were awesome. Had to miss Crimewave's set while trying to get Manoj back in the venue after he was caught bringing beer in. Tut tut Manoj ^_^
A monitor started smoking in the middle of our second song, leading to many bad puns and mumbles while it was sorted. Outside, inbetween sets, a car drove past and some shithead leant out the window and threw a drink over a group of us hanging out and talking. Nice. Then the landlady almost closed everything down after glasses were knocked out windows from upstairs by people dancing. - Matt
