CHANGE

Curtis has quit Doom Patrol to do other projects, including Grrman Records and Grrman distro. We're both on great terms and still friends, no bad vibes, it's just a punk band.
So I'll be recording vocals for the new songs that were created, not sure yet if it'll be a new project with new name, or if it'll be new members and playing live. I like the idea of having it being record only for a time, while I focus on illustration and Dream Dreams The Dreamer.
Though I'd love to blast the new songs out live with a full band sometime.

More updates soon on the recordings.

Shut Up And Dance

Photo by Manoj Koeri. Live December 08.
Great show with Mob Rules and other bands I missed while going for food.
Got drunk in the day, deleted some drums by mistake, shortening our epic 9 minute set to a ridiculously brief amount of time.
Fuck it, bands play for too long these days anyway.

ps. New recordings are almost complete.

UPDATE 2009

Recording and new releases will be happening soon. In the meantime checkout Curtis' record label GRRMAN and a collective I've started for shows and creativity here in Birmingham, HEAT AND LIGHT.

Holy Roar Records have put a Doom Patrol song on a compilation being released/licensed in Japan through Fantome. Cool stuff. Also on the cd are Kayo Dot, Rolo Tomassi, Phoenix Bodies, Cutting Pink With Knives, Dananananakroyd, Bloody Panda, Throats, The Network and more.
Checkout Holy Roar Alex's blog for more details.

Last Show Of The Year!

Just fucking be there.

A fine line up organised by Mr. Sam Pillay, singer of Fixed Grins.
Fixed Grins is the new music by Sam and other ex-Crimewave people.
They're damn good and immediately fill the void left by their previous band.
Why aren't more bands starting at this level in Birmingham?
Too busy being pathetic pseudo-bohemian poser punks maybe?

Here's photos from the first show we just played with another project of ours, No Friends.

A wild Saturday night in Birmingham at the Ideal mini ramp (behind Ideal skate store at The Custard Factory) with skaters flying everywhere and still skating while the bands played on the ramp, sometimes even crashing into us!
Also live were Gentlemen's Pistols and Stinky Wizzleteat. Both great.

Booze and bodies in a huge chaotic burst of fun. Really cool atmosphere and hopefully the first of many more shows/events there.

p.s. Doom Patrol news soon.
